Dave Black (baseball)
Dave Black (born February 26, 1952) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Mets (1975-1978), Chicago White Sox (1979), and Cleveland Indians (1980).
Black was drafted by the Mets in the 1st round (18th overall) of the 1970 MLB Draft. He primarily served as a relief pitcher throughout his MLB career. His best season came in 1977 with the Mets, where he appeared in 57 games and posted a 2.81 ERA. He finished his career with a 12-13 record, a 3.90 ERA, and 14 saves in 223 appearances.
