Crime Story (American TV series)

Crime Story is an American crime drama television series, created by Chuck Adamson and Gustave Reininger, that aired on NBC from September 18, 1986, to May 10, 1988. The series starred Dennis Farina as Lieutenant Mike Torello and Anthony Denison as Ray Luca, chronicling their obsessive pursuit of each other through the streets of Chicago in the early 1960s and later, Las Vegas.

The show distinguished itself through its stylistic choices, including its use of period music, film noir aesthetics, and its cinematic production values. It aimed to portray the evolution of organized crime and law enforcement during the 1960s, exploring themes of corruption, violence, and ambition.

While initially set in Chicago, the storyline later shifted to Las Vegas, where Luca attempted to build a new criminal empire. Recurring characters included police officers, mob figures, and various individuals caught in the crossfire between law and organized crime.

Although Crime Story achieved critical acclaim for its innovative approach to the crime drama genre, its ratings declined during its second season, leading to its cancellation. Despite its short run, it has since garnered a cult following and is remembered for its distinctive style and memorable characters.
