Aug (band)
Aug was a Danish industrial metal band formed in Copenhagen in 1997. The band consisted of Jesper Schmidt (vocals), Thomas Bøgh Jensen (guitars), Peter Sjørslev (bass), and Henrik Strange (drums).
Known for their aggressive sound and politically charged lyrics, Aug released three full-length albums: Sorte Hund (2001), March (2003), and Hymner (2006). Their music blended elements of industrial, metal, and electronic music, often incorporating samples and distorted sounds. Aug's lyrical themes frequently explored societal issues, political criticism, and anti-establishment sentiments.
The band toured extensively in Europe, playing at various festivals and venues. They gained a dedicated following within the industrial metal scene.
Aug disbanded in 2008. While no official reason was publicly stated, it is generally believed that creative differences and personal commitments contributed to the band's decision to split.
Since Aug's dissolution, its members have pursued various musical projects. Jesper Schmidt has continued to work in music, while other members have focused on different careers. Despite their relatively short lifespan, Aug left a mark on the Danish industrial metal scene and their music continues to be appreciated by fans of the genre.
