Cover Up (Ministry album)
Cover Up is a cover album by the industrial metal band Ministry, released in 2008. It features Ministry's interpretations of songs originally performed by artists from various genres, including garage rock, punk, and classic rock.
The album's tracklist includes covers of songs by artists such as The Rolling Stones, Ramones, AC/DC, The Doors, and Bob Dylan. Al Jourgensen, the frontman and driving force behind Ministry, curated the song selection and infused each track with the band's signature industrial metal sound.
Cover Up received mixed reviews upon its release. Some critics praised Ministry's ability to reimagine the classic tracks with their unique and aggressive style, while others felt that the covers were uninspired or lacked the energy of the original versions. The album is generally considered a more accessible release compared to some of Ministry's heavier and more experimental works.
Key personnel involved in the album included Al Jourgensen, Paul Raven (who passed away shortly after the album was recorded), and other members of the revolving lineup that characterized Ministry during that period. The album was released on Megaforce Records.
