Mir Alam Tank

Mir Alam Tank is a large reservoir located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It was built in the early 19th century during the reign of the third Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Akbar Ali Khan Sikander Jah, Asif Jah III. The tank was commissioned by and named after his Prime Minister, Mir Alam Bahadur.

The primary purpose of Mir Alam Tank was to provide drinking water to the city of Hyderabad. It served as a major source of water supply for many years before other sources became available.

The tank is notable for its unique arched dam. The dam consists of 21 semi-circular granite arches, each approximately 45 feet in height. This distinctive architectural feature makes it a significant landmark in Hyderabad.
