Bill Perkins (baseball)
William "Bill" Perkins (born October 22, 1958) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cincinnati Reds (1982-1985) and the Philadelphia Phillies (1986).
Perkins was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 1st round (18th overall) of the 1980 MLB June Amateur Draft. He primarily served as a relief pitcher during his MLB career. His best season was arguably 1983, where he appeared in 59 games for the Reds, posting a 3.43 ERA and 9 saves. He was known for his fastball and slider.
After his playing career, Perkins worked as a pitching coach.
