Bless the Child (2003 film)

Bless the Child is a 2003 supernatural horror thriller film directed by Chuck Russell and starring Kim Basinger, Jimmy Smits, and Christina Ricci. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Cathy Cash Spellman.

The plot centers around Maggie O'Connor (Basinger), a nurse who finds herself unexpectedly responsible for Cody (Holliston Coleman), a newborn girl who is targeted by a Satanic cult. The cult believes Cody possesses extraordinary spiritual powers that will enable them to serve the Devil. Maggie, a non-believer initially, is drawn into a world of good versus evil, and must protect Cody from the clutches of the cult led by Raven O'Connor (Ricci).

Alongside the cult's pursuit, FBI agent John Travis (Smits), who has a background in religious crime, investigates a series of ritualistic murders that appear to be connected to Cody. The film explores themes of faith, good versus evil, and the power of spiritual belief.
