Litteau

Litteau is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northwestern France.

Located southwest of Bayeux, Litteau is a rural community. Its inhabitants are known as Litteauviens.

The commune's history is linked to the larger history of Normandy and France, experiencing the various historical periods from the medieval era through the French Revolution and the World Wars. It, like other areas of Normandy, suffered during the Battle of Normandy in 1944.

The local economy is primarily agricultural.

Litteau is part of the Bayeux Intercom communal structure.
