Paracheloïtae (Thessaly)
The Paracheloïtae (Ancient Greek: Παραχελωῖται) were an ancient Thessalian people or district located near the Achelous River (modern Acheloos). Their precise geographical boundaries are not definitively known, but they were situated along the course of the river, likely bordering other Thessalian tribes. Historical references to the Paracheloïtae are scant, and their political or social organization remains largely obscure. They are primarily known from brief mentions in ancient sources relating to the geography and ethnography of Thessaly.
