Georg Andersen (athlete)

Georg Andersen (born January 27, 1963) is a retired Norwegian shot putter. He represented Norway at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, finishing 11th. He also competed at the 1987 World Championships in Athletics and the 1991 World Championships in Athletics, but did not reach the final in either competition.

Andersen won the Norwegian national shot put title multiple times, solidifying his position as one of Norway's leading athletes in the event during his competitive career.

His personal best throw was 20.98 metres, achieved in July 1987 in Vestby. This remained the Norwegian record until it was surpassed by Marcus Thomsen in 2018.
