County Wexford (Parliament of Ireland constituency)

County Wexford was a constituency that returned members to the Parliament of Ireland until 1800. It was a county constituency, representing the entirety of County Wexford.

Prior to 1801, representation in the Irish House of Commons was determined by a complex and often inequitable system. County constituencies like County Wexford generally had two representatives, elected by freeholders who met specific property ownership qualifications. These qualifications varied over time, but typically involved owning land with a certain annual value.

The constituency ceased to exist following the Act of Union 1800, which merged the Parliament of Ireland with the Parliament of Great Britain to form the Parliament of the United Kingdom. From 1801 onwards, County Wexford was represented in the UK Parliament.
