History:

Walt Disney originally conceived of Club 33 as a place to entertain dignitaries, celebrities, and corporate sponsors visiting Disneyland. He envisioned a discreet and elegant space where he could provide a higher level of service and privacy than was readily available elsewhere in the park. The name "Club 33" is rumored to refer to the address on Royal Street in New Orleans Square where the original club is located. However, official Disney sources have never confirmed the specific reason for the name.

The original Disneyland location opened in 1967, several months after Walt Disney's death. It was initially the only location, offering members access to a dining room and lounge area.

Membership:
