Júlio César da Silva Gurjol, commonly known as Júlio César, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Born on March 8, 1963, in Bauru, São Paulo, Brazil, he is best known for his successful period at Juventus in Italy during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Júlio César started his professional career in Brazil before moving to Europe. His strong performances and commanding presence in defense caught the attention of Juventus, who signed him in 1987.
