Billy Wilson (cricketer)

Billy Wilson (born October 14, 1934, in Benoni, Transvaal, South Africa, died June 25, 2018, in Johannesburg, South Africa) was a South African cricketer who played in 12 Test matches between 1957 and 1965.

Wilson was a right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium-pace bowler. He made his first-class debut for Transvaal in the 1953/54 season. He toured England with the South African team in 1955, but did not play in any Test matches.

Wilson made his Test debut against Australia in Durban in January 1958, scoring 26 and 0. He was a member of the South African side that toured Australia and New Zealand in 1963/64. His highest Test score was 66, made against England at Johannesburg in 1964/65.

He retired from first-class cricket after the 1966/67 season. After retiring from playing, Wilson remained involved in cricket administration.
