Chris Evans (British politician)
Chris Evans (born 14 July 1957) is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Islwyn since 2010.
Prior to entering Parliament, Evans worked as a printer. He was a councillor on Islwyn Borough Council from 1983 to 1995, and served as its leader from 1991 to 1995. He also worked for the AEEU trade union before being elected to Westminster.
In Parliament, Evans has served on various committees, including the Welsh Affairs Committee and the International Development Committee. He is known for his work on issues such as social justice, economic development, and environmental protection. He is a member of several all-party parliamentary groups, including those related to steel and diabetes. He has often spoken out in Parliament on behalf of his constituents and local businesses in Islwyn.
