45th Brigade (United Kingdom)

The 45th Brigade was a territorial infantry brigade of the British Army that existed in various forms during the 20th century.

First World War: Formed as the 45th (2nd London) Division in 1914, the 45th Brigade was part of the 15th London Regiment and included other London-based territorial units. It was initially assigned to coastal defence duties in the United Kingdom. The brigade did not see active service overseas during the First World War, serving instead to train and prepare men for deployment to other formations on the Western Front. Following significant casualties in France and Belgium, the 45th Division was disbanded in August 1918.

Second World War: The 45th Brigade was reformed during the Second World War. It was part of the 15th (Scottish) Infantry Division, a training division based in the United Kingdom. Its role was to prepare recruits and reinforcements for deployment to fighting units in Northwest Europe. The brigade was ultimately disbanded after the end of the war.

The 45th Brigade was primarily a training formation during both World Wars, preparing soldiers for frontline service rather than participating directly in major battles.
