Chen Wei-ling (weightlifter)
Chen Wei-ling (Chinese: 陳葦綾; pinyin: Chén Wěilíng; born January 4, 1982) is a Taiwanese weightlifter. She competes in the 48 kg category.
Chen represented Chinese Taipei at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, initially finishing third and winning a bronze medal. However, in 2016, re-analysis of her sample from the 2008 Olympics tested positive for prohibited substances. As a result, she was stripped of her bronze medal and disqualified.
Prior to the 2008 Olympics, Chen won a silver medal at the 2006 World Weightlifting Championships.
She has continued to compete and advocate for clean sport. While her career has been marked by both success and controversy, Chen remains a prominent figure in Taiwanese weightlifting.
