Mizan Dam
The Mizan Dam is an embankment dam located on the Robat River in Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran. It is situated approximately 13 km (8 mi) northeast of the city of Torbat-e Jam. The primary purpose of the dam is to provide water for irrigation in the Torbat-e Jam plain. Construction on the dam began in 1994 and was completed in 2005. The dam has a height of 41 meters (135 ft) and a crest length of 350 meters (1,150 ft). The reservoir created by the dam has a capacity of 12 million cubic meters (9,700 acre⋅ft). The Mizan Dam plays a crucial role in supporting local agriculture and ensuring water security for the surrounding region. It is also used for flood control. The dam's operation and maintenance are managed by the Razavi Khorasan Regional Water Authority.
