Phi Mu

Phi Mu is the second oldest female fraternal organization established in the United States. It was founded on March 4, 1852, at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, originally under the name The Philomathean Society.

Phi Mu is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). Its official colors are rose and white, and its symbol is a quatrefoil. The official mascot is a lioness, affectionately known as Sir Fidel.

The organization focuses on sisterhood, scholarship, and service. Its national philanthropy is Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Through various fundraising activities and volunteer work, Phi Mu chapters across the country support local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Membership in Phi Mu is extended to women who demonstrate qualities consistent with the organization's values. The sorority has numerous chapters at colleges and universities throughout the United States. Phi Mu provides its members with leadership opportunities, personal growth experiences, and a lifelong network of sisters.
