Charles Moseley (writer)
Charles Moseley (1931-2019) was a British scholar and writer specializing in medieval literature, particularly that of Geoffrey Chaucer and J.R.R. Tolkien. He was a Fellow of Downing College, Cambridge, where he lectured in English Literature for many years. Moseley's academic work focused on close readings of texts, historical context, and the relationship between literature and religious belief. He published extensively on Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, examining themes of pilgrimage, language, and the nature of good and evil. His accessible writing style made his scholarship popular with both academics and general readers interested in medieval literature and fantasy.
