Chandrashekhar (actor)
Chandrashekhar Vaidya (c. 1923 – 16 June 2021), often credited mononymously as Chandrashekhar, was an Indian actor and filmmaker who predominantly worked in Hindi cinema. He was best known for his role as Arya, the Chief Commander of Prithviraj Chauhan's army, in the historical television series Ramayan (1987-1988).
Chandrashekhar began his career in the 1950s. He acted in over 112 films, often in supporting roles, throughout his career. Some of his notable films include Surang (1953), Kavi (1954), Baradari (1955), Gateway of India (1957), Street Singer (1966), and Cha Cha Cha (1964), which he also wrote, directed, and produced. He also worked as a writer and producer.
He passed away due to age-related ailments in 2021.
