Centa (river)

The Centa is a small river located in Tuscany, Italy. It rises in the Apuan Alps, specifically on the slopes of Monte Folgorito, and flows for approximately 20 kilometers before joining the Serchio river near Ponte di Campia, in the municipality of Minucciano. The Centa's course is characterized by a steep gradient and rocky bed, making it a popular spot for canyoning and other whitewater activities. The river's watershed is largely forested and sparsely populated, contributing to relatively good water quality. The Centa does not have any major tributaries or significant settlements directly on its banks, remaining largely a natural watercourse within its local environment.
