Kostanay

Kostanay (also spelled Qostanay) is a city in northern Kazakhstan and the administrative center of the Kostanay Region. It is located on the Tobol River.

History:

Founded in 1879 by Russian settlers, Kostanay initially served as a trading post and agricultural center. Its strategic location on the Tobol River facilitated trade and transportation of goods. The city experienced significant growth during the Soviet era, becoming an important industrial hub.
