Pam O'Connor (politician)
Pam O'Connor is an American politician who served as a member of the Santa Monica City Council for over two decades, from 1994 to 2020. She is known for her focus on transportation, sustainability, and regional planning.
During her tenure on the City Council, O'Connor served multiple terms as Mayor of Santa Monica. She was a strong advocate for environmentally friendly policies, including promoting public transit, bike infrastructure, and water conservation efforts. O'Connor was also involved in initiatives related to affordable housing and community development.
O'Connor was a prominent figure in regional transportation planning. She served on the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board of Directors for many years, including as Chair. In this role, she helped oversee the development and expansion of the region's public transportation system, including light rail and bus lines.
