St Helen's (skyscraper)

St Helen's, also known as the Aviva Tower and previously as the Commercial Union Tower, is a commercial skyscraper in London, England. Located in the City of London financial district, its construction was completed in 1969.

The building is characterized by its distinctive box-like design and is notable as one of the earliest skyscrapers built in London following the relaxation of height restrictions in the 1950s. St Helen's stands at a height of 118 metres (387 ft) and comprises 23 floors.

Over the years, the building has been occupied by several major corporations, including Aviva, who held naming rights for a period. It offers office space to a variety of businesses. Due to its age and architectural style, it is not generally considered to be among the most modern or visually striking skyscrapers in London, but it remains a significant landmark within the City's skyline.

St Helen's is situated near other notable skyscrapers, including the Gherkin (30 St Mary Axe) and the Leadenhall Building, contributing to the dense cluster of high-rise buildings in the area. While it may not be as architecturally celebrated as some of its newer counterparts, it represents a key moment in the development of high-rise construction in London.
