Ambiancé

Ambiancé (also stylized as Ambiance) is an experimental art film directed by Swedish artist Anders Weberg. Notable primarily for its extreme length, the film is projected to be 720 hours (30 days) long.

The film is conceptualized as a single, continuous dream-like sequence with no traditional narrative structure. Weberg has described the film as an abstract visual poem exploring memory, time, and space. The project is a non-commercial endeavor, with Weberg stating its creation is a personal artistic exploration.

Production began in 2014, with numerous short trailers and excerpts released to the public, each successively longer than the last. These trailers, some exceeding several hours in length, generated considerable attention due to the project's ambitious scale and the director's stated plan to destroy the only copy of the film after its single planned screening.

The full 720-hour film was initially scheduled to be screened on December 31, 2020, after which it would be deleted. However, due to production challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic, the release was postponed and ultimately cancelled. Weberg subsequently stated that he has abandoned the project in its original form, but may explore aspects of it in future works. The pre-existing trailers and snippets remain as the only accessible representations of the intended full work.
