Carnlough
Carnlough is a village in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Situated on the Antrim Coast Road, it lies within the civil parish of Ardclinis and the barony of Glenarm Lower. As of the 2011 Census, Carnlough had a population of 1,528.
Carnlough's economy is historically linked to limestone quarrying, with the remains of the quarry railway and associated infrastructure still visible. Fishing also played a significant role in the village's past. The harbour, notable for its distinctive curved design and constructed in the 1850s, was designed by James Walker and remains a prominent feature.
Carnlough gained further recognition as a filming location for the television series Game of Thrones, particularly the harbour which was used to depict Braavos.
The village offers various amenities including shops, restaurants, and accommodation, catering to both residents and tourists. The surrounding area is characterized by scenic coastal landscapes and is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking and walking.
