Cai Lun (crater)
Cai Lun is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the northeast of the larger crater Innes, and southwest of Van Gent.
The crater is relatively well-defined, with a sharp-edged rim that has undergone only a moderate amount of erosion. The inner walls slope downwards to a somewhat uneven interior floor. A small, cup-shaped craterlet lies on the northern inner wall. There is a cluster of small craterlets near the center of the crater floor. The overall shape of the crater is roughly circular, with a slight bulge outward along the western rim.
Due to its location on the far side of the Moon, Cai Lun cannot be observed directly from Earth and is only visible via spacecraft.
