Brian Robinson (cricketer)

Brian Robinson (born February 3, 1931, Sheffield, Yorkshire; died July 27, 2022) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1950 and 1966. He was a right-handed batsman, known for his solid defensive technique and occasional aggressive strokeplay. He was also a useful right-arm medium-pace bowler.

Robinson scored over 16,000 first-class runs for Yorkshire, with a highest score of 209 against Leicestershire in 1959. He was a consistent performer for the county, contributing significantly to their successes during the 1950s and 1960s. While not a regular international player, he represented England in three Test matches against South Africa in 1955, scoring a total of 42 runs.

After retiring from first-class cricket, Robinson remained involved in the sport, working as a coach and administrator. He was a respected figure within Yorkshire cricket for many years and contributed to the development of numerous young players. He is remembered as a loyal and dependable cricketer who served Yorkshire with distinction.
