Brian Powell (baseball)

Brian Powell (born April 22, 1973) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers (1998-2000), Houston Astros (2000), and San Francisco Giants (2001).

Powell attended Southern University, where he played college baseball. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 20th round of the 1994 MLB draft.

He made his major league debut with the Tigers on June 28, 1998. Powell primarily worked as a relief pitcher during his MLB career. His career totals include 93 appearances, a 6-5 win-loss record, and a 5.38 earned run average (ERA). After his major league career ended, Powell continued to pitch in the minor leagues.
