DC3 (band)

DC3 was an American punk rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1982. The band consisted of Dez Cadena on guitar and vocals, Kira Roessler on bass (later of Black Flag), and Jack Irons on drums (later of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam). Their name is a play on Dez Cadena's initials.

DC3 released one album, Deal, in 1985 on SST Records. The album showcased a blend of hard rock, punk rock, and experimental elements. The band was known for their intense live performances and Cadena's distinctive vocals and guitar playing.

Prior to forming DC3, Cadena was a guitarist for Black Flag. Following DC3's dissolution, Irons went on to greater success with Red Hot Chili Peppers and later Pearl Jam, while Roessler continued her musical career and pursued academic interests. Although relatively short-lived, DC3 is remembered as a significant band in the Los Angeles punk rock scene and a notable chapter in the careers of its members.
