Gamasodes

Gamasodes refers to a now-obsolete genus of mites. Historically, this genus was classified within the order Parasitiformes and the suborder Mesostigmata. It was comprised of several mite species that were known to be parasitic on various hosts, primarily insects. The classification of mites within the Gamasodes genus has been revised over time, and many of the species previously assigned to it have since been reclassified into different genera within the Mesostigmata order. As such, the term Gamasodes is most frequently encountered in older scientific literature pertaining to mite taxonomy and parasitology.
