Brian Martin (luger)

Brian Martin (born March 21, 1974, in Glen Falls, New York) is an American luger who competed from 1993 to 2010.

Martin competed in four Winter Olympics: 1998, 2002, 2006, and 2010. His best finish was eighth in the men's doubles event at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.

Alongside partner Mark Grimmette, Martin achieved considerable success in the Luge World Cup. Together, they won two overall World Cup titles in men's doubles (1998-1999 and 2002-2003), and earned multiple individual World Cup race victories.

At the FIL World Luge Championships, Martin's best finish was a silver medal in the men's doubles event at Park City in 2005. He also won a bronze medal in the mixed team event at the same championships.

Following his competitive career, Martin has remained involved in the sport of luge, contributing as a coach and mentor to younger athletes. His partnership with Mark Grimmette remains one of the most successful in American luge history.
