Brain Drain (film)
Brain Drain is a 2007 Mexican comedy film directed by Diego Graue. The film follows a group of academically gifted, albeit socially awkward, teenagers from Mexico City who are sent to a boarding school in the United States for gifted students. The narrative focuses on their struggles to adapt to a new environment, navigate social relationships, and find their own identities while dealing with the pressures of academic excellence. The humor derives from the clash between their intelligence and their lack of social skills, as well as their cultural differences. The film stars Martha Higareda, Adrián Uribe, Hector Jimenez, and Miguel Rodarte, among others. While commercially successful in Mexico, it received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising its lighthearted humor and others criticizing its predictable plot.
