Drożki

Drożki (plural of Drożka) is a Polish word referring to a type of light, open horse-drawn carriage. It was a common mode of transportation in Poland, particularly in cities and towns, from the 19th century until well into the 20th century, gradually being replaced by motorized vehicles. Drożki were typically used as taxis or for short-distance transport. The term is closely associated with traditional Polish urban landscapes and culture. A dorożkarz is the driver of a drożka.
