Boyd House (University of Oklahoma)

Boyd House is a historic building located on the campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. Built in 1917, it originally served as the president's residence. It is named for Stratton D. Brooks, the university's fifth president, although he only resided there briefly.

The building is a three-story brick structure designed in the Classical Revival style. It features a prominent portico with Corinthian columns and a balustraded balcony. Over the years, Boyd House has undergone several renovations and served various purposes beyond its initial function as a residence.

Following its use as the president's home, Boyd House transitioned into administrative office space. For many years, it housed the University of Oklahoma Foundation. More recently, it has been used to house offices for various academic departments and programs.

Boyd House is considered a significant architectural landmark on the University of Oklahoma campus and contributes to the historical character of the university's core area. While its internal function has evolved, its external appearance has remained largely consistent, preserving its historical and architectural significance. The building is not generally open to the public except during specific events or by appointment.
