Bobby Rose (baseball)

Bobby Rose (born November 13, 1967, in Covina, California) is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) and Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) infielder. Primarily a second baseman, Rose played for the California Angels (1989-1992) in MLB before embarking on a highly successful career in Japan with the Yokohama BayStars (1993-2000).

Rose was known for his exceptional hitting ability, particularly his power and consistency in NPB. He consistently ranked among the league leaders in batting average, home runs, and runs batted in (RBIs). He helped lead the BayStars to a Japan Series championship in 1998, earning MVP honors for his performance.

After retiring from professional baseball, he remained a popular figure in both the United States and Japan. While his MLB career was relatively brief, he is remembered fondly for his contributions to the Yokohama BayStars and his overall impact on Japanese baseball.
