Bob Wood (basketball)
Robert "Bob" Wood (born c. 1923, died June 22, 2008) was an American professional basketball player.
Wood played collegiately at Southeastern Oklahoma State University (then Southeastern State Teachers College), where he was a standout player.
He then played professionally in the National Basketball League (NBL) for the Anderson Duffey Packers during the 1948-49 season. In 24 games, he averaged 3.3 points per game. The Duffey Packers were coached by Murray Mendenhall.
After his basketball career, Wood worked in the oil business. He passed away in 2008 at the age of 85 and was survived by his wife, Charlene, and several children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was interred at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.
