Bin Yauri
Bin Yauri refers to a local government area (LGA) in Kebbi State, Nigeria. It is situated in the northern part of the state and is one of the 21 LGAs that constitute Kebbi. The administrative headquarters of Bin Yauri is located in the town of Yauri.
The population of Bin Yauri is predominantly Hausa-speaking and Fulani. Agriculture is the main economic activity, with crops like millet, sorghum, rice, and groundnuts being cultivated. Fishing is also a significant occupation due to the presence of the Niger River.
Historically, the area formed part of the Yauri Emirate, a traditional state with a long history of governance. The emirate continues to exist today, although its role is primarily ceremonial.
Bin Yauri, like other LGAs in Nigeria, is responsible for local administration, including the provision of basic services such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure maintenance within its jurisdiction.
