Ajigawa stable (2022)
Ajigawa stable is a sumo wrestling stable, or heya, in Japan. It was established in 2022 by former ozeki Aminishiki, who adopted the name Ajigawa Oyakata.
The stable's formation followed Aminishiki's retirement from active competition in July 2019 and his subsequent period as a coach at Isegahama stable, his former stable as a wrestler. After fulfilling the necessary requirements, he became eligible to establish his own stable.
Ajigawa stable is located in Sumida, Tokyo. It aims to recruit and train new wrestlers, with the goal of developing them into successful rikishi. The stable's philosophy and training methods are influenced by Ajigawa Oyakata's experiences as a wrestler, emphasizing discipline, perseverance, and respect for sumo traditions.
As a relatively new stable, Ajigawa stable is actively working to establish itself within the sumo world. The progress of its wrestlers is closely followed by sumo fans and media, and the stable's future trajectory remains to be seen. The success of Ajigawa stable will depend on the quality of its training program, its ability to attract promising recruits, and the leadership of Ajigawa Oyakata.
