1958–59 European Cup (handball)

The 1958–59 European Cup was the first edition of the premier men's handball club competition in Europe. Organized by the International Handball Federation (IHF), the tournament was held over the 1958-59 season.

The competition involved club teams from various European nations. Participating clubs were generally the national league champions or top teams from their respective countries.

The inaugural tournament featured a knockout format with teams competing in home-and-away ties across multiple rounds. The winners of each round advanced to the next, culminating in a final match to determine the champion.

Redbergslids IK of Sweden emerged as the winners, defeating Frisch Auf Göppingen of West Germany in the final to claim the first European Cup title in handball.
