Bill Montgomery (Australian footballer)

Bill Montgomery (born 28 May 1953) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for South Fremantle and Swan Districts in the West Australian Football League (WAFL).

A key defender, Montgomery was a prominent player for South Fremantle throughout the 1970s. He won the Sandover Medal in 1977, awarded to the fairest and best player in the WAFL. He also represented Western Australia in state football matches. After leaving South Fremantle, he played for Swan Districts.

Montgomery's Sandover Medal win remains a significant achievement in South Fremantle's history. His ability to read the play and his strong marking skills made him a formidable opponent for opposing forwards.
