Belfast Victoria (UK Parliament constituency)

Belfast Victoria was a parliamentary constituency in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It existed from 1885 to 1918, returning one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the United Kingdom.

The constituency was created under the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885, which significantly reshaped parliamentary representation in the United Kingdom. It was carved out of the existing Belfast constituency, reflecting the city's growing population and importance.

Belfast Victoria was primarily a middle-class and Protestant area of the city. Consequently, it tended to elect Unionist or Conservative candidates. Notable MPs included individuals associated with the Irish Unionist Party, which advocated for the maintenance of the Union between Great Britain and Ireland.

The constituency was abolished for the 1918 general election. Its territory was redistributed into the newly created Belfast East, Belfast North, Belfast South, and Belfast West constituencies. The abolition reflected broader changes in the political landscape of Ireland, leading up to the partition of Ireland in 1921. The area formerly covered by Belfast Victoria now predominantly falls within the Belfast East and Belfast North constituencies.
