Beit Oved

Beit Oved (Hebrew: בֵּית עוֹבֵד, meaning "House of Worker" or "House of Laborer") is a moshav in central Israel. Located in the Shephelah region, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gederot Regional Council.

Beit Oved was founded in 1933 by immigrants from Poland and Lithuania, affiliated with the HaOved HaTzioni movement. The moshav was established on land purchased by the Jewish National Fund and aimed to create a communal agricultural settlement based on cooperative principles.

The economy of Beit Oved is primarily based on agriculture. Main agricultural branches include citrus groves, field crops, and livestock. Some residents also work outside the moshav in nearby towns and cities.

Beit Oved maintains a community center, synagogue, and other communal facilities serving the residents. It represents a relatively small and close-knit community.
