Ghamjaba

Ghamjaba, also sometimes spelled "Gamjaba", refers to a traditional Korean sauna or bathhouse. These establishments offer a variety of services, including hot and cold baths, saunas (often of different types), and scrubbing services. The term is often used interchangeably with "jjimjilbang," although the latter typically implies a more elaborate facility, often including sleeping areas, restaurants, and entertainment options, making it a more expansive leisure complex. A ghamjaba might be a smaller, more community-focused bathhouse. The primary purpose of visiting a ghamjaba is relaxation, hygiene, and socialization.
