Beinn an Eoin (Torridon)

Beinn an Eoin is a mountain in the Torridon Hills of Wester Ross, in the Scottish Highlands. It is one of the classic Torridon peaks, known for its steep sandstone terraces and dramatic views. The mountain reaches a height of 932 metres (3,058 ft), classifying it as a Corbett.

The name "Beinn an Eoin" is Gaelic in origin, translating to "Hill of the Bird" or "Hill of the Eoin" (Eoin being a personal name).

Geologically, Beinn an Eoin is formed from Torridonian sandstone, which gives it its distinctive layered appearance. This sandstone is relatively soft and prone to erosion, resulting in a landscape of steep cliffs, deep gullies, and scree slopes.
