Yellow Line (Namma Metro)
The Yellow Line of the Namma Metro, also known as Line 5, is an under-construction metro line in Bangalore, India. It will connect R.V. Road to Bommasandra, primarily serving the Electronic City area and the southern parts of the city. The line is expected to significantly improve connectivity for commuters traveling to and from the IT hub.
The Yellow Line will be elevated for the majority of its length. It will interchange with the existing Green Line at R.V. Road station and the future Pink Line at Jayadeva Hospital station.
Once operational, the Yellow Line is projected to carry a substantial number of daily riders, easing traffic congestion on the roads leading to Electronic City and promoting sustainable transportation options. The line is part of Phase 2 of the Namma Metro project. Construction delays have been reported, pushing the projected opening date further into the future.
