Beast (TV series)
Beast is an American action crime drama television series that aired on A&E from January 15 to April 23, 2009. The series starred Patrick Swayze and Travis Fimmel.
The show revolves around veteran FBI agent Charles Barker (Swayze), who uses unconventional and sometimes brutal methods to train his rookie partner Ellis Dove (Fimmel), who is secretly working undercover for Internal Affairs, investigating Barker. Barker knows Dove is investigating him and uses this knowledge to his advantage, pushing Dove to confront his own personal demons and to become a more effective agent. The cases they work often involve highly dangerous criminals and morally ambiguous situations, forcing both men to make difficult choices.
The series was created by William Rotko. Despite positive reviews for Swayze's performance, Beast was cancelled after one season due to low ratings and Swayze's declining health as he battled pancreatic cancer.
