Femrite

Femrite is a Ugandan writers' association dedicated to promoting and supporting the literary arts of women writers in Uganda and across Africa. Founded in 1996, Femrite – Uganda Women Writers' Association – provides a platform for women to develop their writing skills, publish their work, and connect with other writers. Its activities include workshops, mentorship programs, publishing initiatives, and literary festivals. The organization aims to address the historical underrepresentation of women in literature and create a space where women's voices can be amplified and celebrated. Femrite also works to promote literacy and a reading culture in Uganda.
