Bardo Pond (album)
Bardo Pond is the self-titled debut studio album by the American psychedelic rock band Bardo Pond, released in 1996 on Matador Records. It is often referred to by fans as simply "Bardo Pond" or "Volume 1" due to its lack of a specific title beyond the band's name. The album is characterized by its lengthy, droning compositions, heavy use of distortion and feedback, and extended instrumental passages, all of which are hallmarks of the band's sound. It is considered a key album in the development of psychedelic rock and stoner rock genres. The tracklist includes songs like "Die Easy," "Rumination," and "Dragonfly." The album received positive reviews upon release, and continues to be a highly regarded work within Bardo Pond's discography.
